The Capocotta area, a valuable natural oasis, was annexed to the area in 1985 in order to protect it from speculation. <\/p><p>In <strong>1999 <\/strong>the area was recognized as a <strong>State Nature Reserve<\/strong> and later as a <strong>Site of Community Interest<\/strong>, assuming a protection regime according to specific criteria for the safeguarding of protected areas.<\/p><h2>Flora and fauna<\/h2><p>In the estate, among hundreds of hectares of holm oak, pine forest, high and low Mediterranean scrub and mixed forest that alternate with clearings and natural meadows, live <strong>different kinds of animals<\/strong> that roam freely such as wild boars, fallow deer, roe deer and red deer.
