The EUR district

Unfortunately only a partial realization of the well-known E42 project interrupted due to the Second World War, the urban complex was born in the thirties as an institutional and office center located on the Cristoforo Colombo road, a major artery towards the sea of ​​Rome (Ostia). It was built in anticipation of the Universal Exhibition that never took place.

The neighborhood, in its central core, offers shining and spectacular examples of the architectural style known as “Italian rationalism”, among whose representatives we find the famous Busiri Vici.

Over the years, the nature of EUR has evolved in parallel with the original one, which has not stopped it becoming one of the great industrial and commercial centers of Rome, also finding an outlet for residential construction.

The area is home to offices, including: Confindustria, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of the Environment, SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers), ICE (National Institute for Foreign Trade) and the headquarters of ENI.

Inside the EUR area we also find some of the most important and modern buildings in the city: the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola, the Palazzo dei Congressi, the Palalottomatica, which hosts events and concerts by the most famous Italian artists, the Salone delle Fontane and Spazio 900.
